X-Out 300 is a sanctioning organization for precision .22 LR rimfire benchrest competition, offering Factory and Unlimited competition with a unique 300-point target and season-long Scoreline system.
Every match is another opportunity to improve your Scoreline.
X-Out 300 combines precision rimfire benchrest competition with a scoring and website system designed to make every approved target meaningful throughout the season.
Twenty-five record bulls with a maximum of 12 points per bull create a possible perfect score of 300.
Competitors build their standing from their best approved target scores rather than accumulating participation points.
X-Out 300 competition is conducted in both Indoor and Outdoor environments, with rankings and qualifications kept appropriately separated.
Two equipment classes provide competitors a place to compete with the rifle configuration that fits their equipment.
X-Out 300 began in 2024 from a group of precision rimfire shooters who wanted a competition format centered on accuracy, meaningful target scores, and a season-long system where every match could improve a competitor’s standing.
The X-Out 300 target uses a multi-score-ring approach designed specifically for precision rimfire benchrest. The color red was intentionally incorporated because it provides excellent visibility against the dark powder residue around a bullet hole, making close scoring calls easier to evaluate when manually plugging and examining a target with magnification.
The 300-point scoring system was chosen to create greater separation between performances and help significantly reduce ties while still rewarding extremely precise shooting.
In 2026, X-Out 300 introduced a redesigned website and a connected electronic scoring program, bringing match scheduling, scoring, Live Results, competitor records, rankings, World Records, and result submission together into one system.
Shoot your best targets. Improve your Scoreline. See how you rank. Every approved target gives a competitor another opportunity to improve.
Approved targets remain part of a competitor’s season history. The best qualifying scores are used to build Scorelines at the Club, State, and National levels.
The competitor’s best 10 approved target scores at one individual club build that Club Scoreline.
The competitor’s best 15 approved target scores shot within one individual state build that State Scoreline.
The competitor’s best 20 approved target scores from anywhere in sanctioned X-Out 300 competition build the National Scoreline.

Each X-Out 300 competition target contains 25 record bulls. A competitor fires one scoring shot at each record bull, with a maximum possible target score of 300 points.
The expanded scoring range provides additional separation between competitors and helps reduce ties. X-count and First Miss information provide additional scoring detail and tie-breaking information where applicable.
The X-Out 300 website and scoring program work together to give Match Directors a complete match-management workflow while keeping competition accessible to clubs with limited internet service.
Authorized Match Directors can schedule sanctioned matches through the website and manage approved club information through the Match Director Portal.
The scoring program can receive scheduled matches, competitor information, club information, software updates, and current World Record information directly from X-Out300.com.
Targets can be scanned and electronically scored, or Match Directors can manually enter target scores while still using the same match-management and upload workflow.
When internet access is available, results can be published during scoring for Live Results. When the match is complete, results can be uploaded directly to X-Out 300 for approval and publication.
Competitors can follow approved target history, rankings, Scorelines, qualifications, match results, and accomplishments through the X-Out 300 website.
Match Directors can schedule matches, maintain club information, score competition electronically or manually, and submit completed match results directly for approval.
Once results are approved, they become part of the connected X-Out 300 system used for competitor profiles, rankings, Scorelines, match results, and World Record review.
X-Out 300 continues to expand as new clubs and competitors join sanctioned precision rimfire benchrest competition. X-Out 300 could be at a club near you.
The X-Out 300 Hall of Fame recognizes competitors who build Hall of Fame points through exceptional performances and championship achievements. Points can be earned through major championship finishes, annual Scoreline Championships, certified World Records, and qualifying high-score performances. Hall of Fame points are tracked separately within each Factory or Unlimited and Indoor or Outdoor division.
Hall of Fame achievement begins at 30 points within an individual X-Out 300 division.
Competitors reaching 60 Hall of Fame points earn Silver achievement status in that division.
Competitors reaching 90 Hall of Fame points earn Gold achievement status in that division.
The highest X-Out 300 Hall of Fame achievement level is reached at 120 Hall of Fame points within a division.
